VEG-LIFE EXPO
Veg-Life Expo, the 15th Federal Healthy Lifestyle Exhibition, brought together all supporters of a healthy, active and creative lifestyle, both ordinary consumers and the core business community.
As part of the business programme, the topic of alt-foods was addressed by experts from the analytical sector as well as manufacturers representing the segment.
IPSOS: The share of adherents of plant-based diets (veganism, vegetarianism, pescetarianism and flexitarianism) does not exceed 2-3% of the country's population for each type. In total, 13% of Russian consumers are willing to try flexitarianism.
GFK RUS: Comparing the performance of the plant-based category for 2022 and 2023, an increase in frequency (+2%) and volume (+2%) of purchases was recorded, while the value of purchases in rubles and the size of the cheque increased by 6% and 9%, respectively.
On the local market, the vegetable milk category accounts for 59% of the segment's total volume, and comparing data from 2022 and 2023, it shows a decline in physical (-4%) and monetary (-9%) terms. At the same time, plant-based yoghurt (+76% and +94%), plant-based meat products (+43% and +72%), plant-based mayonnaise (+9% and +21%) and plant-based cheese (+8% and +2%) will grow.

SoyuzPischeProm LLC records +48% growth in GreenMilk sales from January to September 2023 compared to the same period in 2022. The plans for 2024 are to increase production volumes, expand the range of GreenMilk, GreenMilk Barista, Healthy Milk brands, continue promotion through ambassadorship, rejuvenate the audience, develop direct contacts with marketplaces.
Not Meat (TASHIR FOOD), together with Perekryostok TS, continues the experiment with a special shelf, changing its name to "Vegetable Products", during which 14 refrigerated shelves will be introduced in Perekryostok stores.
